1st edition book. One of 1625 first editions published. The Yankee Whaler by Clifford W. Ashley (1881-1947), Houghton Mifflin 1926. The book is must for any whalecraft collector. Signed whaling scene ink drawing "a red whale in a stove boat" sight: h 6"w 4.5" overall: h 12.75" w 10.25". Verso on front dated 1943 westport. Ashley actually shipped on the whaler Sunbeam, one of the last working whaler's out of New Bedford. Ashley seeing that the whaling industry was done, put the book together with many photos.
