Rare large scrimshaw whale pan bone section, 19th century. Fine scrimshaw carving on bone. Excellent condition. Slight polychrome in one women's shirt. Nice age patina and it presents itself well. Provenance Newburyport MA estate. The current scrimshaw exhibit at the New Bedford Whaling Museum has on display a similar pan bone work. Approx. 24.75" x 8". item as5444
