Very unusuaual antique eskimo or inuit harpoon constructed of bone or walrus tusk, fitted wooden handle with a bone toggle. Very good condition consistane with age and use. This harpoon most likely was used for light game, black fish or maybe seal. A very intersting item. This type of toggle barb used by eskimo/inuit mammal hunters was an inspiration in the development of the temple toggle harpoon. Approx. L 44 inches item wh1601
